News
New York, NY — November 17, 2025 — BKSK Architects announced that Partners Todd Poisson, AIA and David Kubik, AIA delivered a featured presentation at the Zak World of Façades conference, the premier global forum on façade design and engineering.
Their talk, “New Skins, Old Stories – Reimagining Historic Context Through Façade Design,” explored how contemporary architecture can engage meaningfully with the layered histories of New York City’s neighborhoods. Highlighting two recent BKSK projects — The Village West at 525 Sixth Avenue and The Twenty Two New York Hotel at 16 East 16th Street — the presenters demonstrated how materiality, craftsmanship, and thoughtful detailing can bridge past and present.
Through these case studies, Poisson and Kubik illustrated BKSK’s commitment to façades that respond to context while advancing performance, sustainability, and design excellence. Their presentation underscored the firm’s belief that new buildings can honor historic character without imitation, contributing vibrantly to the city’s evolving architectural narrative.
